The Elegance & Exile of the Nawabs of Oudh

It is the year 1774. Asif-ud-Daula, son of Shuja-ud-Daula, was the Nawab of Oudh.
As soon as he became the Nawab of Oudh, he shifted his capital from Faizabad to Lucknow.
It was the time when entire province was suffering the wrath of the nature the severe femmine, Lucknow was not the exception. On coming to Lucknow, he saw the subjects were starving from hunger. He wanted to help his subjects but not like beggers.
He did not want him to be given a bailout in his people, so he should be given food in lieu of work. Special at night, working in the day, There was another arrangement for the people of high class, that is why they used to do the work of four days at night. Due to this the people of high class used to do the work but remained safe from the consequences And till end of femmine he continued the same and thousands people got benifited.
This is how the Bara imambada was built by the Architect kifaytullah, whose grave is lying under the hall beside the grave ofΒ  Nawab Asif-Ud-Daulah
